While Alberta Health Care does not currently cover psychological services, your private insurance company or health spending account may cover a portion or all of these costs. If you have questions about whether your insurance will cover psychological services, please contact your provider directly. You may be eligible to claim psychological services not covered by insurance as a medical expense on your income taxes.

Appointment Changes and Cancellations

Your appointment time has been reserved for you. For cancellations and appointment changes, please provide a minimum of 24 hours advance notice.

Assessment clients will be responsible for paying a late cancellation or no-show fee of $300 for missed testing sessions. Counselling and consultation clients will be charged the hourly rate of $220. If a member of your household is feeling unwell, in-person counselling or consultation sessions can be moved to video or telephone.

Shared Custody and Legal Guardianship

In Alberta, parents who are separated or divorced are both required to provide consent for psychological services. If you have sole custody of your child, a copy of court documentation must be provided at the parent intake meeting. Legal guardians must similarly provide guardianship documents.
